Squat, Bench Press and Deadlift Ratio Calculator shows how your three main powerlifting lifts compare with each other using your one-rep maxes. It normalizes your bench press to 1.00 and calculates your squat-to-bench and deadlift-to-bench ratios. Your results are compared with broad competition-data reference ranges to help identify potential imbalances in your current strength profile. These ratios are informational rather than fixed strength requirements.

What is a good squat to bench press ratio?
There is no single squat-to-bench ratio that is ideal for every lifter. Bodyweight, sex, training history, technique, leverages and competitive level can all influence the relationship between the two lifts. A broad competition-data reference can be useful for context, but it should not be treated as a universal target.
How much should I squat compared with my bench press?
Your squat 1RM will usually be higher than your bench press 1RM because the movements involve different muscle groups and mechanical demands. This calculator uses a broad reference range of approximately 1.40–1.60 times the bench press. Your individual ratio can reasonably fall outside this range without indicating a problem.
How much should I deadlift compared with my bench press?
The deadlift is typically substantially stronger than the bench press when comparing one-rep maximums. The calculator uses a broad reference range of approximately 1.55–1.85 times the bench press. The appropriate ratio for an individual lifter depends on factors including body proportions, training history and specialization.
What does a weak squat-to-bench ratio mean?
A relatively low squat-to-bench ratio means your squat 1RM is lower relative to your pressing strength than the broad reference used by the calculator. This can happen because of training emphasis, squat technique, mobility, leverages or simply because you have developed your bench press faster. It does not automatically mean that your squat is objectively weak.
What does a weak deadlift-to-bench ratio mean?
A relatively low deadlift-to-bench ratio means your deadlift is lower relative to your pressing strength than the broad reference profile. Training history, pulling technique, body proportions and exercise selection can all affect this relationship. Looking at your progression over time is more useful than judging one ratio in isolation.
How can I improve my squat, bench press and deadlift balance?
Start by identifying which lift is comparatively behind rather than trying to force your numbers into a predetermined ratio. Give the lagging movement appropriate practice volume and address relevant technical or muscular limitations while continuing to progress the other lifts. Your strength ratios should be viewed as a snapshot of your current training profile, not as a requirement you must reach.
